About the project

The overall objective of Headway programme is supporting and empowering subnational authorities to facilitate local economic development and have better access to municipal investment that benefits the extension of safe public services, as well as economic opportunities for the targeted communities. The Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) hosts over 1.6 million displaced people and 253,600 Syrian refugees.
The Job Creation in KRI grant scheme under Headway finances intensive job-generating projects in order to increase the self-reliance of Syrian refugees, vulnerable host communities and internally displaced people (IDPs).
The Job Creation in KRI is calling upon businesses to apply under the grant scheme and contribute to improving employability and generating jobs mainly for youth and women. Interested businesses should have projects with the potential for sustainable employability of the grant target groups.
